Milton's Mx5

So ive finnally got my own mx5 , im not much of a mechanic or drifter, i will keep this thread upto date but it will be slow and also b limited to funds, skills and tools etc.

so after a few months looking and false hops i found a very nice mx5, i first saw it at pod and had a quick chat.

so on the way home i was trying to look him up on facebook or here or even mx5nutz but couldn't find him, after a little more digging and a find this user thread i managed to track him down and the car, quick pm and and we was talking , few texts in and events for both me and him meant the sale had to wait a month or so, until recently he text me again asking if i was still interested in a mx5, i was and after speaking to my boss/mechanic drifting friend mr colegate i went to view the car. as i didn't have insurance he took me out for a quick spin but id already made my mind up to buy it or not.

once we got back we chatted for about an hour or so about the car and everything he has done and previous owners had done. we eventually settled on a deposit and he would drop the car off the next week, after he rounded up the boot load of spares and gave the car a general tidy up.

so its now on the drive and im booked into pod for the 20th november for my first dwyb

so now for pics of the car and basic spec.

Looks like it should be fun, although I'm not sure about the drifting... If you want to really see what an MX-5 is about, take it up to Bedford Aerodrome - up there it doesn't matter if you stuff up as there aren't any barriers to hit.

Oh, and you also need to put this on the back bumper - should go well with those side skirts

While I like the idea of a track day, I won't be taking the Focus on one. Maybe when I have enough money to buy a cheap track car I will, but not at the moment.

So today I got the car up as high as I could and didn't take me long to work out I couldn't be bothered to swap the pipe section for the cat. mainly due to it being cold and wet.

So I thought I will give the inside some attention and try to make the car my own. took out the vent unit and then proceeded to try to get the eye ball out , plenty of swearing and stabbed finger from the screwdriver slipping.

now I'm gonna eventually do the mod with RC wheels but haven't got them yet so I'm gonna spray the eye balls bit purple to match the rest and leave the other bits black should have a good contrast.

Also got a nice mount to hold them while they dry :-)

all sanded down , not needed but o well.

primed up and also sanded down paint runs

First layer of paint, will be given them a sanding down, a lot of paint runs again. I will be given them a 2nd coat hopefully no runs.

Got another layer of paint on. And them fitted.

Quite impressed with myself as I did it.

Cool

A bit garish m8 personally I would have done the ridge down the centre of the spoke and then the inner circle and don't forget to paint the wheelbolt heads black.
That's just my opinion m8. If you like it that's all that counts.

Like your idea tho Andy, I might give it a ago doing the ridge pinstripped. Can't wait to drift it and drive it

It was cold and raining first thing so had the hat on then and roof up. By 11ish it was stopped and was getting warmer so took roof down and put heaters on full. 2 pointing at steering wheel to keep my hands warm and the othr down into the car. Its was lovely and warm in the cockpit all day but out side of it was cold. Like a Little bubble
