Smile Racing Seat Advice Please

Can anyone recommend a good racing seat?

Any advice about the good, the bad or the ugly?

Does the Playseat really squeek?

Make one? Much cheaper and you can design and build it to suit where you are going to use it and how you want to use it. I picked up a racing seat on ebay for about 40 not much more for materials. Can be done for well under 100.

My setup has changed a bit since then. It's more like this with addition of a CSR Elite wheel.

But I never had any great problems with the MS until one of the shifter paddles broke but that was after a good few years of very heavy use.

Unfortunately not, just the PC and PS3. I wish I had bought the extra two xboxes now rather then the extra two PS3's as I play way more Forza than GT.

Ive been lookin at the Rseat looks good and I can pick one up 10mins from my house. The only bad thing about the playseat is the bar in the middle never used one but it looks like it would get in the way like I said never used one so I'd be glad to be wrong

Like I said, a DIY one is cheaper and you can build it to your own spec. If money was no object I'd go with something like this with a D-Box motion system. Not cheap at 14,000 Euros

I've got one of them there foldie-uppie camping chairs that's slowly falling to bits. It's one of those that fold in a kind of "W". It looks the part but
its pretty awful. I have the Rennsport stand to use with it, but that tends to move about if you get a bit passionate with the brakes.

I really want something that has an element of folding-upness as I can't keep it setup permanently.

@Slim - Wow! That's so cool.

Hi Slim

Im just about to get my race rig set up.

How do you guys bolt your pedals down and then switch your pedals from the PS2 wire going into the Wheel for XBox, to the usb lead going into your pc?

I thought about putting both leads in and swapping them over as i need them but on the fanatec website it says i can damage my pedals by having both leads in.

Dont really want to unbolt my pedals to change the leads each time

I just used the holes on the underside of the clubsport pedals to bolt it to a bit of board that the pedals sit on. Not sure why you have to undo a cable. I leave my pedals plugged into my wheel with the ps2 cable and connect wirelessly to the Xbox and then connect my wheel to the pc using the USB cable from the wheel. The PS2 cable from the pedals to the wheel can be used for both xbox and pc.
