Yep its a huge patch. I don't think I've ever seen a developer do so much work to make their game better after release

While that is true, many will argue that it shouldn't be that broken to begin with.

Very true but a majority of games are 'broken' on release, but not many bother to try and fix their game to the extent SMS have. And in the case of T10 bury their heads in the sand and ignore evryone

Haven't played the game for weeks now but it's great to see how much they are doing for it

I think the sheer complexity of games these days means that we are stuck with things that are broken on release. As others have said though it's the response to those things that is most important and it seems as though SMS are taking that responsibility more seriously than others have ever done.

Wow, that's a massive patch, the only downside being that it's still a few weeks away.

Fully agree with Slim - while it's a shame that the game launched with a few issues, the true test of a company is how they respond to issues and SMS have been exemplary in this respect.

Still plays like crap mate. Popped it on out of interest the other day. Lasted 10 mins. Bad frame rates, sounds stuttering and no feeling still in steering. It's ****...full stop.

Agree there's still some bugs, namely the sound stuttering for me. But it plays great, unlike forza though, it's not as pick up and play, so need an evening to get through a race weekend or two...and I'm hopelessly addicted to Elite

Will look forward to the new patch

I'm in total agreement with Slim.

I get the very occasional stutter, usually on 16+ cars on track, but NOTHING that would suggest this is a **** game.

I'm dismal at it. Haven't nailed the wheel on it yet, too lazy to relearn the pad, but the steering feeling is incredible, if not complicated to master.

SMS post sales support should be held as an example of how to do it too. Not only do they admit the faults, they actively encourage you to report them, then, best of all, they try to fix them, long term.

If you think it looks ****, I don't know what the actual **** you are expecting from a game???

No I Just appreciate a good game and can see past minor niggles. Your obviously all about the style rather than the substance

Not sure why you're posting if you have washed your hands of it either. Why waste your time. You're missing Destiny game time.

Minor niggles? The car over steers, I have no idea it's started. It under steers, I have no feedback. I can't slow the car into a corner. I don't own a wheel so guess it's just made for the elite like yourself slim

What feedback do you expect to have other than what you can see and hear if you are using a device that has no feedback system built in? Can't slow into a corner, learn to use the brake trigger effectively. Plenty of people I have raced with play it with a pad and I don't hear them moaning. Maybe you just don't have the skill to play it.

Are you still using the stick for accelerating/braking? I'm amazed you were as quick as you were in Forza with that setup, but with the way PCars communicates I'm not surprised it hasn't translated well. Personally, I find the way the cars drive so much better than FM5 - granted there's still the low-speed twitchiness in both games but the feel of the cars is so much more car-like in PCars I'm impressed. Add to that that SMS actually seem to know what a race feels like and I'm a convert.

Dan/Slim - behave lads

I think Dan mean he doesnt see HIS freinds playing so that means nobody is playing it

Im actually doing OK with and usually fight for podiums every race with good players around me (meaning if i can play it then anyone who can be bothered to master it can) but if you're using the odd controller set up you were using maybe thats it?

If you're not liking it then fair enough, just dont understand why you bother coming on with your usual negativity, so why bother posting? Destiny is your thing currently so keep at it

I think John G's post about sums it up.........the continued support is keeping me happy. Console version still not as good as PC version and dont think it will ever be TBH but its far from a shite game warts 'n ' all.

I popped Forza 5 in my drive the other day and it felt proper shite!! But it did look fairly pretty in places...

Fck knows how people who struggle with Pcars would get on with cold tyres on Iracing and to a lesser extent AC - Pcars is childs play i'll tell ya!!

I was doing a gt3 career around Road America the other day, and for the whole race I fought tooth and nail with the top 3 cars, just when I'd take the lead, they'd come back at me, by the end I was overjoyed to have gotten 3rd place. Great game, just wish I had more time to play it.

Yes it was broken on release, but as other have said the support has been fantastic, patches have come thick and fast, with another monster on the way, and the communication has been superb. Plus with a host of new features to be added, plus car and track dlc, there's not much to complain about.

I think people have hit the nail on the head. The feeling you get from racing wheel to wheel is a cut above anything else out there. It just feels right and for me the handling model is sublime. I've never once lost it or made a mistake and thought 'WTF, why did that happen?' I've never played a game where I have felt so in control of the car by use of throttle, brake and steering. That combined with a game that just feels how I imagine real racing does and I can't get enough of it.

Obviously on PC it a much better experience but then that is to be expected. The fact that SMS continues to support the game in the way it has with patches that other games could only dream of make me go a lot easier on them for the mistakes they have undoubtedly made. To state it plays like crap is so completely wide of the mark that it makes you wonder.

Haven't played the game in about a week and a half now, but I use the pad and think it is the best "racing" game there is.

If you don't put the time and effort into tuning/learning the track then what do you expect to get out of it really? This is not a game like FM where you can just jump on 5 mins before a Sunday night race and expect to be competitive, because the car behaves differently on each track so you have to tweak your setup each and every week to be in with a chance.

Out now on the pc @smokinmasta

And.....

Quote:
LEADERBOARDS RESET
Please be aware that, as a result of the enhanced cut-track detection system included in Patch 3.0, all Time Trial leaderboards will be reset over the course of the next 12 hours. This is to clear out leaderboard times that were set under the old cut-track detection system where players could get away with driving off-track and gain time by doing so. The new system is far fairer and much more accurate. By resetting the leaderboards we remove all these 'contaminated' records and ensure that everyone has a fair shot at setting true and accurate Time Trial leaderboard entries.

I take it the PC version doesn't have to go through certification?

Just got to wait the few weeks for the Xbox patch to get released now, but the Leaderboard wipe is a good sign.

PS4 patch has also been released today so just waiting on the useless Xbox one team to complete their certification process.
