Grand Theft Auto V

Quote:
Grand Theft Auto V Development is "Well Underway"

A source apparently close to Rockstar Games has told GameSpot that development on Grand Theft Auto V is "well underway", with finishing touches like the addition of mini-games being finalised. The source also stated that a 2012 release is "pretty likely".

The anonymous source stopped short of revealing any details or specifics on GTA V, with speculation still rife that the game could be set in Los Angeles and is being developed under the codename 'Rush', as well as casting calls surfacing listing a variety of typically GTA-esque characters.

There's also a distinct possibility that Grand Theft Auto V could be set in the Miami-inspired Vice City, but Rockstar is still being cagey when talking about the game, declining to offer any comments on GTA V, having yet to officially announce it. Still, wherever it ends up being set, it'll have some way to go to top Grand Theft Auto IV, which as of March 2011 had sold over 20 million copies worldwide.

Hmm, may be worth a look. I fear that i've started to grow out of the GTA series.

I dont think I'll ever grow out of them, GTA(1) was the game that made me buy a playstation in the 1st place and I've bought all the non-handheld games since. I dont thin theres actually being a bad GTA on the consoles and although admittedly GTA IV seemed to miss some of the more obscure things from GTA:SA (e.g. car customisation, ambulance jobs, flight school, secret bigfoot in the woods) it was still damn good.

There was an article about 2 years ago on IGN stating that a journalist had a tour round the rockstar studios and found a manuscript with details of GTA V stating it was to be set in Australia....cant be bothered to find a link but you'll probably find it if you search.

Me too, London '69 was quality back in the day Im sort of in agreement with Alpha Dog though, they're getting a bit stale, ive got liberty city episodes sat on my coffee table that I havent touched but cant bring myself to play it. Hope a new one will do enough different to get me interested again.

Get it played !

Lost and the Damned is good, but not as good as Ballad of Gay Tony. BoGT is genuinely laugh out loud funny at times and the characters in it (Yusuf Amir, Ray Bulgarin and Mori Kibbutz) are easily the funniest in the whole game.

Not sure why but i've never really got on that well with GTA, not since the original top down one. The game is absolutely fine, just something in me that doesn't particulary like it. I was the same with LA Noire, which i bought a couple of weeks ago and only played for a few hours before deciding it wasn't for me.

I'm sure this is one my lads will want, don't know if it's true or not, but my son said something about it taking rockstar 7yrs to complete GTA5 ?

As for me, I've always liked GTA since the days when you only got the view from above, thats a long time ago lol

R* have been busy in the meantime, remember they released Red Dead since GTAIV as well as 2 full and complete 'episodes'

GTA V Latest News Information | GTAV.NET

I use that site for all my news, theres debate wether this will form 'Part 2' of the GTAIV 'era' or be a game in its own right. I hope/guess at the latter.....

Cant wait for this, I'm hedging my bets on a San Andreas style larger area. New characters but set in the 'GTA IV' era

Also expect true co-op, and 'lifestyle' events more advanced than drowning your girlfriend or leaving your friends on top of skyscrapers

I hope not, I've spent a good amount of time in Washington previously and its not exactly a good driving location. Ok it was a fictional washington devastated by nuclear war and set a few hundred years in the future but thats not the point lol

And my spine is tingling!

R* always make good trailers, very atmospheric and sets the scene well without spoliers.

Favourite thing so far - watch @ 59secs behind the tramp - trailers appear to be back for trucks!

Ps - Up-n-Atom Burger, once it pings eat like kings lol!

I of course missed the far more obvious truck where I got the burger slogan from, too busy reading the side to actually realise its a truck!

I'm think who could return here, obv lots of scope for music/film types compared to the rather more stuffy 'business' world of GTA IV.
