Clubman GT Round 1&2

Round 1 sees us at the Yas Marina circuit north. Bit of winter sun as temps fall away in the UK

Yas Marina North
Sunday 14th December
Race 1 sprint = Random (as much as it is in 5 ) approx 15 mins

Interval/ciggie/fetch a beer/comfort break for 5 mins

Race 2 feature = Random with 5% loss to the top driver (or more depending on entry) Pit stop between lap x and lap x Approx 30 to 35 mins

6 entrants - 1st place to lose 5%. 7 - 9 entrants, 1st and 2nd to lose 5%. 9 entrants or more, top 3 places to lose 5%

CALENDAR
Season 1:
Week 1 (14th Dec) - Yas North
Week 2 (21st Dec) - Silverstone GP

2 week festive break

Week 3 (11th Jan) - Catalunya GP
Week 4 (18 Oct) - Road Atlanta Full
Week 5 (25th Oct) - TBC - maybe double header endurance race.


CHANGING CARS

There will be changing of cars in this series. However i would try and encourage staying in 1 car to keep a nice mix of cars. Please post up if changing car

SIGN-IN PROCEDURE

The sign in thread will go up approximately five or six days before the race. Each competitor should sign into this thread.

If a driver is unable to race in any one week, he should sign "out" in the sign-in. At least we will know if worth racing or not.
PITS
Race 2 will feature pit stops and pit window will be decided prior to race night

INCIDENTS

All on track incidents involving 2 or more cars within the first 5 mins or so will trigger a safety car

Please note that this series is being run with cosmetic damage; although this will allow some tapping, we dont expect drivers to behave likes a public hopper !

SAFETY CAR PROCEDURE


The lead car will lead the pack around at a safe, steady speed not exceeding 60mph until the entire field is in line. Cars should maintain a safe distance to the car in front and should not engage in weaving or sudden acceleration of braking as this is likely to lead to accidents. Any drivers making a pit stop under safety car conditions must rejoin the field at the back of the pack.

When the last driver(s) have caught up with the pack, he should call it. The restart will occur ONLY after you pass start finish line. NO overtaking until you have passed the start finish please.

PENALTIES

We will try and do without post race penalties unless there is obvious foul play such as but not limited to:

Corner cutting to gain time/place on multiple occasions
Tap to pass without giving place back
Ramming - see above
Not paying attention to lobby instructions on multiple occasions

Assists
All/any assists will be allowed other than auto brakes and STM

Was good racing last night Tough I think the Aston Martin needs a boost @smokinmasta it gets left behind on the striaghts and just doesn't have enough to make it as up through the twisty bits

If it's any consolation, Yas was the Aston's weakest track in testing. It's strength is in the fast sweepers so I expect you and smokin to go well at Silverstone (and John G to struggle. It also has a higher top speed than the Viper but it does take a while for that advantage to tell.

As for the racing, it was another good night. Proof in fact that FM5 can deliver a good experience if you can find decent drivers, although even then the flaws do make themselves apparent. Fortunately, the racing was good enough to make those flaws fairly unimportant on Sunday
