New PC

Not having had a gaming pc for a long while, I have rejoined the fray as I had some cash burning a hole in my pocket.. I did ponder building another one of my own, but after shopping around, I decided to skip the stress and have Scan build me one, which worked out pretty good value as I had 100 quid off the graphics card.

Intel i7 6700 @4.6ghz
EVGA 980ti
Asus Z170 mobo
8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000
250gb SSD
Corsair H100i hydro cooler
Corsair Rmi750
3TB Seagate
TP Link wifi card
NZXT 340 Case

All paired up to an 27" Acer Predator 1440p 144hz G-sync monitor

Can't tell you how it runs yet, as the monitor doesn't arrive until tomorrow

piccies..

Nothing better than a new build and clean install! Nice rig, should keep you ahead of the game for a little while. That 980Ti is calling out to me. Think I'm going to have to bite the bullet when my Rift arrives.

Have you had a G-Sync monitor before? I've been running an Asus ROG Swift 1440p 144Hz one for a little while now and it's awesome, really makes a big difference to my gaming. It's been flawless so far.

Cheers Slim, yer the 980ti was on offer, and was only 30 more than the 980, and figured I'd need to horsepower if I wanted to max games out at 1440p, not used G-sync before no, but it was on my must have list, which narrowed it down to only a few monitors anyway, also looked at the ROG Swift, but could only afford the TN model, which was the same price or thereabouts for the Acer, which is IPS, so went for that instead.

Also eyeing up a Logitech G29 which on sale in Currys for 160 quid

Good grief, this things a beast. Maxed out Pcars @1440p getting anything from 110-130fps with 30 cars. Have Witcher 3 on ultra @1440p and getting 55-60fps with hairworks enabled. And g sync is awesome, so smooth!

Good to hear

Told you G-Sync was a sight to behold! Not surprised you can run everything so well with that beast. I see a 980Ti in my future

Ye, it's great, even just using the desktop, and moving stuff around the screen, it's just sublime. Get one, especially as ypu already have a rog swift, haven't overclocked mine either, so still plenty of juice to be had from it, especially with good cooling
