Fixed Tune championship
An intoduction into what this all about. Quite a few of us were itching to start something like this once we'd got a sniff that a DLC might contain a Cossie or 2. So this fits somwhere beween the frantic hardcore stuff and the easier stuff like the Clios.
What ive tried to do here is get a balance across 3 different cars with a mix of PI adjustment and tuning.
These should well be fairly easy drive (in A class rwd terms that is) and fast enough to nearly please the more 'hardcore' racers amongst the ranks. This will be the first time we've fully explored the T10 lobby settings fully by applying a penalty to winners, runners etc. Much like lost Real life 'tin top' championships. The setting that seem to work the best are applying a power reduction as other setting seem penalise far too much. This we tried on the last race in the Saab Cup where Mike who had the biggest power reduction still won, but only a 1000 odd ft and all finished on the lead lap with, IIRC 15 secs covering all racers over a 50 min 'enduro' race.
Cars will be watched to ensure nothing too dominant appears. By rights any dominant car gets a 15% reduction in power the following week anyway! With a little thought if do your damdest on a power week and have no reduction, pick up good points giving you a penalty. It might not matter if the next week is handling track???!! I leave you to ponder that...............
Tunes will be up on my SF for 1000 cr Now
Use these to test and see if you are up to it!!
DLC REQUIRED or at least the sample car to enable viewing of those that do have it
Choice of 3 cars which have been closely matched with fairly extensive testing, fine tuning will be finished this week.
Merc 190E Cosworth
Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth
BMW E30 M3 (non DLC)
Suggested Line: ALLOWED
Automatic Gears: Allowed
Damage is on cosmetic
Now the bit where we trialled on the last round of the Saab Cup.
2 races per round. The ROUND placings will determin the following restrictions
We'll use the ingame restrictions to even the field up a little for the following round like this........
Group 4 no restrictions 4th place or lower
Group 3 5% less power 3rd place
Grpup 2 10% less power 2nd place
Group 1 15% less power 1st place
It works well and top drivers have their work cut out in the following rounds.
The Merc seems to be to most useable but is now MUCH closer to the other 2 cars. Bear in mind that if you are the round winner the following round you have a 15% power reduction next round!!
Where there is a tie you will place up. Example: Joint first, both will have 15% reduction so on so forth.
Race Venues TBC but will include the following :Montegi Full, Nurburg GP full, Mugello Full. Shorter race tracks MIGHT include Sedona Club or club Reverse, Siverstone Nat etc
Race Length TBC - prob 20min - 25min each
These are RWD A class cars so should be fun. TCS allowed so as not to restrict entrants. But to be honest unless driving like an idiot they are fairly easy to drive without TCS
Normal race requirments for this site no nudity etc. Race paint in keeping with 80's DTM or 80's BTCC please - there are paints on my SF which i can put up with your number if required - im sure there are one 1 or 2 others who can also help out if needed??!!

Magic, Stoney and Rekky really did a good job in the clios,
We also had RD, Guru and Wiggy too. Oh and Spiny get great comments always when hosting. I dont know what their connections were thou.
10MB down, 1MB up so the speed isn't amazing but I seem to get a good ping when I do the speed test. I'd guess that's more of an advantage than upload and download speeds. Oh, and I can host by the way.
Seems the 50mb broadband doesn't really benefit from extreme download speed i achieve around 20mb on average, but its the all important upload speed that is vastly improved on any listed here, i've never tested below 4 mb upload although usually above 5mb, this is all important for gaming
