fm5 should contain a remixed forza 2 sound track and a 206 that handles like it did back in the hay day of said classic

Think that might be where alot of the nostalgia comes from for FM2 - the soundtrack.
It's easy to identify with something instantly if it's recognisable in that way.

The other two since with there Menu 'mood music' type stuff inspires nothing but apathy

And just for you Sid; The Crystal Method - Busy Child - YouTube

awesomeness

I see f5 has some ponsey English voice over but not that guy from 3 or 4. They should get the guy who does the Honest Trailers to do the voice work

Don't think there was any mention of proper wear rates yet though

First up, I like the look of the track. Much better than Bernese Alps for example. This one looks like you may actually have to drive it rather than just have a car which is both quick and grippy. Prague looks more of a drivers' track which is always a good thing in my book, although there don't seem to be all that many passing opportunities, particularly in the last third of the track. Nice to see a conference video where the driver can actually keep the car on track for a change as well

That said, I did see something in the video which may be a big minus. Look at the pre-race bit where assists are being set - the bottom one is labelled "Damage, fuel and tyre wear" and is set to cosmetic. That strongly suggests that once again these are being lumped together rather than allowing fuel and tyre wear to be separate once again I can only hope that the other options will be something like "damage only", "wear only" and "damage and wear", or that will be a bit of a kick in the 'nads. Fingers crossed multiplayer lobby settings have a bit more choice available.

Go down about half way to the interview between Brian and Beardy Dan. Sounds a bit better with regards to possible tyre wear (tyres failing was mentioned twice i think?) VERY interesting about paint. Real textures etc etc

Looks like an individual tire heat indicator next to the gear indicator, is that on any of the other vids?

Yes, it's on the one Slim posted up on P3 as well. Then again, it's also available in FM1, FM2, Fm3 and FM4 through the HUD

Talking E3: Just a taste of Forza 5 is enough to blow our minds

Quote:
While we were only on track with this limited Forza 5 demo for one lap in the monstrous McLaren P1, and while the Turn 10 guys admitted that the physics model isn't 100-percent baked right now, we are nevertheless stoked about the driving experience. The team has been working with a super-advanced research lab called Calspan to lock-in true-to-life mechanical modeling that hasn't existed before this. Tire wear, specifically, is both elemental to the feel of a car on the road over time, and particularly challenging to recreate accurately in-game. This is largely because sort of "normal" game events ridiculously high levels of slip angle, for instance happen outside the normal parameters of racing and driving, and have therefore never been accurately modeled by groups at performance tire companies. The end result of all of this work is an epic experience in terms of grip under load, as well as a stronger feeling of real mass for a vehicle than we've ever had before.

+1. Getting properly psyched for this already. A new console gen and a new Forza, can't wait to what goodness they both deliver

All the trolls will moaning before got anywhere near November
Heres a novel idea, how about we treat this as a NEW game weve never seen, you know stand alone etc. Maybe all the haters might view stuff a little differently? It seems loads (that mostly dont play Forza now) are still comparing anything/everything with FM1 and 2!!

If theres any trolling its more likely to be about the XB1 itself rather than Forza 5... im already tired of reading about DRM etc.

The only reason people praise FM2 so much is because of the online lobby system. FM4 alienated me because of the constant crashing and split lobbies.
