Fanatec help

This weekend I have picked up a fanatic gt2 wheel and I would like some help with settings and setups, eg sim steering or normal, force feedback settings and such. Also do people use the clutch peddle or use a button, I have had a little go and it's awesome, just can't wait for my stand which I am getting in a week or so.

Any help much apriciated.

Cheers

I just use the factory settings & alter FFB in the game,
mainly because mine will reset itself sometimes.
I`ve messed around with steering degrees but ended up with more questions than answers
I`ve overcome problems with shifters & headphones but you may not come across these issues.

I`d be interested to hear its affect on your performance Craig ?

well been using it for about 1 hour and have just put a time at #156 on Iberian full, so not to far off my controller pace but a lot less consistent. I don't no what I will be like in traffic.

iberian is one of the easier ones to start off with as it is very flowing as doesn't have much in the way of lock to lock turns.

One of the reasons why I tried it there, I'm going to try not go back to the controller at all and stick with it as I do prefer with the wheel, and I have a place for it in the flat so I dont have to put it away.

You will find everyone seems to prefer a specific setup and they vary a lot.

I have

SENS:210
FFB:80
SHO:100
ABS:70 (Set to match the clubsport pedals brakes
LIN:0
DRI:OFF
SPR:0
SPR:0

And I use the clutch as a button, except occasionally messing around using the clutch for launches etc..

In-game I use sim steering, manual+clutch, no assists..

But a lot of people much prefer the full 900 degrees of lock, it's somethng you need to try and see what feels right..

i have gt2 also. i use 270 degrees and about 80 %feedback in game and 80 on the wheel. 100 is to much for me and you spend to much of your effort fighting the wheel rather than flowing steering.
ditch the clutch pedal and use B button. its not ideal position for your thumb but faster than pedal.
it sounds like your already fast on the wheel but be patient and you will get better and better. i always think its best to commit 100% to the wheel and never go back to the controller. i know of some who try and use both and they all fail to be as fast as they could be on the wheel because they are frustrated at the learning process.

also dont worry about spring and damper setting as they have no effect on gt2 on 360

So your a "sim racer" now Craig

I use the flappy paddle sequential gear shift with the manual clutch. It took a bit of mastering but it's soooo much quicker than the other clunky ones.

As for settings, its just personal taste really. I use the DRIFT setting when drifting as it really makes a difference.

Hi Craig

Good to see another Wheel user

Im using an CSR so the feel might differ, my settings are

SENS:700( will adjust to suit car)
FFB:80
SHO:100
ABS:80(using csr elite pedals so no Vib on the pedal itself)I usually set this depending on car.
LIN:0
DRI:3
DEA:0
SPR:0
SPR:0

I tend to use the flappy paddles and have got used to using the A button for Clutch. This allows me to use the H shifter if im feeling brave( like using it for the older cars), and i can still use the clutch pedal for launch if need be.

If you are going to use the H shifter at the same time as paddles, and choose to use paddles in a race start, just remember to leave your H shifter in 1st gear else you will get a crappy start. Took me a while to figure that one out

What stand are you getting? Got myself a Rseat evo and loving it

I am just getting a second hand wheel stand pro from one of the guys over at mvg. I think I will have to adapt it to suit the gt2 but it won't be a problem seeing as I work with metal every day.
