Not been out much mate. Moons been up and weather not great. Did get this quick image of M1 The Crab Nebula but need a lot more data to do it justice.

Yep me too - Stargazing live is good, although they can rather rush things at time.

Weather been awful recently but did manage to get a couple of AVI's of Jupiter this weekend. Stacked them together and the below pic is the best.

Click the image to open in full size.

The little black dot you can see is the shadow cast by Jupiters moon Europa which you can see on the left. First time I have managed to capture a moons shadow, so pretty chuffed with it.

Took delivery of a shed last week to keep my scope in. I'm hoping to modify the shed so the roof can be rolled off onto a frame, meaning the scope can be permanently set up and I don't have to waste time setting up and taking down, which is a pain in the ****. So if it's a clear night I should be up and running in minutes.

So it's been a while since I imaged anything, weather has been horrendous until recently and had a bit of trouble with a new camera but that has now been replaced as it turns out the first one didn't like the dark, which is a bit of a problem for an astrophotographer! Managed to get out last night and took a couple of avi's of Saturn before the clouds rolled in. Seeing wasn't brilliant but it's my first Saturn and you can see the Cassini division so I'm pretty happy with it.

What a night! Big solar storm just smashed into the earth. Saw a tweet from the Aurora service at about nine, grabbed my tripod and camera and headed north. Got out of the car and noticed a greenish red glow to the North. My first time seeing the Northern Lights! Was just blown away by it.

So set my tripod and camera up and started taking some 10 - 20 second exposures and couldn't believe the result. Just an amazing night!

Last image is awesome Slim! Very jealous of you seeing the Northern lights as it is something I have always wanted to see.
