SOME RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR ALL

CONNECTION ISSUES

Here is a guide to sorting out your lobbies as fast as possible when connection problems are evident.
Connection Issues - What to do - Please read
Restarts/Safety car
In the race:

If a crash happens on lap 1 affecting 3 or more drivers then please call out that an accident has happened. The host will call a restart and everyone can quit to the lobby once the host confirms the restart. Quit before at your own peril

If during the race there is an incident involving 4 cars the host may call for a safety car procedure to be used. This will involve the lead driver slowing down to a speed that allows the other drivers to catch back up, and the field to therefore re-group. ONLY the host can call this and it should only be used in exceptional circumstances. During a safety car phase drivers are not allowed to overtake but can pit in to change tyres/fix damage.

All drivers need to make sure they have signed the racing etiquette thread otherwise you canít race.

Can all Drivers NOTE: 2 wheels to remain on the tarmac at all times (unless you go into the litter ) a minor off maybe noted as racing but no gain is to had either in time or places. If you cut corners over and over expect a penalty, you have been warned. If you suspect or see corner cutting, report it to Smokin, Stewards or even other Mods. Save a replay and note time, place and who.

All aids will be allowed other auto brakes.

Thanks and clean racing

Really enjoyed that, even if I wasn't very fast. I think the whole weather thing added hugely to it. Quite amazing to think that we had so many race strategies between just five of us. For example, I ran slicks until the rain started, inters after that and didn't add fuel at the pits. Did anyone else do the same?

I'm pretty sure I set my strategy to inters but after pitting I checked the telemetry screen and it said GT3 Wets. Not sure if that meant inters or full wets. I also started the race with enough fuel. I also thought it was a brilliant race that benefited so much from the weather and tyre wear. Gutted that I was put on the grid in third gear. I always floor the throttle at the beginning and I jumped forward due to not being in neutral and got a drive through, like a good boy though I did reverse back into my correct start position

I reckon we should potentially do a much longer race so that fuel and tyre wear play a much bigger part.

Yeah enjoyed this too, started on slicks, by default by weather, then pitted and put an full wets, took a while in the pits and lost time to smokin by staying out a lap longer before pitting, spun off and slim got me, managed to hold 3rd from a closing spiny for most of race till he was running on metal lol
Yeah longer race sounds good or if the time x 10 or something might make tyre where faster?

Don't think the Bentley will cope with 10x tyre wear - I was on canvas on the front left for the last 5 laps as it was

Couldn't get back into chat last night, said there was a problem. No idea why my wheel wouldn't work, had to restart the console twice to sort it.

Really enjoyed last nights race and extra 20 laps would have suited me so that some more fuel and tyre strategy came into it. Love the variable weather also. Makes such a difference to the racing. Think I judged it about right staying out one lap more before changing to dry tyres. Was sliding around a bit on the wets as they over heated but not so much that it caused a problem.

The fuel tyres and weather just make the whole race crackingly more eventful.

It's nice to be in the mix and fending people off rather than playing catch up. I made literally 1 slight mistake, and Spiny took full advantage.

Night race, heavy rain, fog. Great fun.

Got to agree, absolutely brilliant race. If it wasn't the best I've been in, it was certainly well up there. The random weather adds a whole new dimension to the racing and takes it to another level.

As for my race, I thought I was being cunning starting on Inters so I could get around better when the forecasted rain arrived. Unfortunately, the inters proved to be crap on the extra lap I stayed out and I dropped to last. After that, it was a case of making use of the fact that the Bentley was stable in the rain to catch up to, then run into, the back of smokin. Once we were back racing again, I had to make the pass which took the best part of a minute start to finish. (Click below for the pass, pass, then pass again)

Microsoft OneDrive - Access files anywhere. Create docs with free Office Online.

Strategy helped my get past Jamesy as an early stop to Soft Slicks gave me a much quicker lap to get past, then a lap before the end John succumbed to the pressure of the elephantine Bentley and spun to let me past.

While it was great to get 2nd place, I think I can honestly say that it would have still been really enjoyable if I'd finished last. I think the random weather slots is definitely a great way to go

I know where you're coming from on the track. This was probably the first time where I really felt that I was gelling with the track. Couldn't get a feel for it at all in FM5 and didn't do too well early on in PCars, but with the M1 Procar races things started to feel better and with the Bentley things came together.

Just got to hope that I can keep hold of that now.

Never heard anyone say they don't like Spa! I thought everyone just loved it. I think it's a fantastic track with lots of challenging corners and when you get it right and are in the groove it just flows

Being honest, I think this is a large part of what was the problem for me. I hadn't raced Spa in any game until FM5 came along, and I suspect that was a large part of the problem. When you have a car which you can trust and feels good under you (like the Bentley did on Sunday for me), it is a very good track to drive and fully deserving of its reputation. The problem is that if you have a car whose handling you don't trust, those same fast sweeping bends become a right ballache. As I never felt comfortable with FM5's physics, having that game introduce me to Spa probably did lots to create the impression that Spa's reputation was undeserved - I never did get why Dan liked it so much.

Fast forward to PCars though, and with a well tuned car I can trust its a different story. Maybe it's not my favourite track (I have soft spots for Donington and Laguna), but it's certainly one I enjoy a lot more now. And at the moment that enjoyment is building every time I race it

Yeah I think FM5's handling didn't do anything justice! I've raced it mostly on PC in proper sims so have had a proper education around it.

And one of the greatest things about PCars is the British tracks. They really are fantastic to race around. I'm currently doing a Ginetta G40 comp on the PC, with Tricky as a team mate! It's using all of the British tracks and I just can't get enough of them.
