The.. I'm not buying Forza, but I am really thread

Well seeing as I slagged the demo off, and the disappointment of Forza 5, and making me hate Forza, I rewarded T10 with buying the ultimate edition

As such it's downloading tonight and should be ready to play when I get home from work tomorrow.

So own up.. Who's really getting it too?

Well I figured I wasn't going out this weekend, and forking out on the ultimate edition will at least force me to give it a fair crack of the whip to get my moneys worth.

Get it 8 days early when you order the ultimate edition.

I'll be(and I'm sure Slim will as well) reporting on the good and the bad.

Absolutely. It's got a hell of a lot to do to win me back over after the turd that was FM5 and with Project Cars killing it in terms of actual racing. I've seen some good things in vids and streams so hopeful that it will be a return to form.

I folded early. I lost my love of Forza with 5, hopefully this might bring it back!

I'll hedge my bets and give two replies.

FM6 is slightly better then FM5 (it can't be any worse):
Hypocrites! Words fail me. Folded like a cheap suit!

FM6 is nearly as good as FM4 :
Great community spirit. Bravo!

And no, I've not ordered it yet.

Also in the "not ordered" camp.

I think I'll need to hear really good things about it to fold for anything more than bargain basement price due to two things. Firstly, I'm really enjoying PCars, and secondly, FM5 has really put a downer on the Forza franchise for me.

Still going to be interested in what you guys who have succumbed have to say about it though. Fingers crossed for good things and that T10 have learnt their lesson from the pasting they got after FM5.

The big question is :
Are the multiplayer lobby settings still as castrated as they were in FM5?

For the love of God... It's making me play hours of intro championships I don't want to play, before I can even get to the main menu.. T10 know how to test my patience

Watching this thread with interest. Enjoying PCars but can't help hoping the Forza franchise will have redeemed itself. PC not having an oval mode isn't helping it's cause let alone the bugs.

About 3 hours in so far. Once you get past the stuff you're forced to play, it's looking pretty good.

Menus are very slick, cars are back to being organised properly, and I've had a ton of free cars and a lot of credits as a loyalty bonus from previous games... 6m in total.

Good news is the mods can be completely ignored, the spins aren't too bad when you level up.

Driveatars are better than they were, but given the nature of the short races, you can't bide your time like you can in Pcars, as you have to finish in the top 3. So any crashing has mainly been my fault. I haven't felt the need to throw the controller at the screen yet anyway, and actually had fun slugging it out with Slim.

If you've played the demo, you'll know the puddles are annoying, but I've worked out just lifting off the throttle will get through them OK.

Plenty of multilayer options, with the leagues already having an open beginner one. Not tried online yet, as I'm gonna a build some cars up first. No reverse points for private lobby either, so that's a bummer.

But so far, it's Forza, instantly familiar, plenty to do, an improvement on 5 for sure, so far so good.

Apparently, the easiest way to get out of baked in tutorial is to quit the game and reload. I only did this after the 3 race mini series to start.

Agree with pretty much all of this. It's a much better 'game' than FM5 was. Using a wheel feels much improved. I had an awesome spec mx5 race around Laguna Seca with the ai doing a good job of racing. On the hardest difficulty and short races you've really go to take no prisoners because the guy in first just bolts and opens up a four second lead over second meaning you have to barge your way through the gaggle of cars ahead to stand any chance of winning and the one below top difficulty you can comfortably win.

However, I've just spent two hours in a meet and greet session for new guys in the group I race with on PCars on PC, and it's so much better in terms of the handling and the racing. Although the MX5 race did give me hope that FM6 could be a return to form.

Rivals mode is also improved, when you put the cursor over a track, it gives you various rankings, for that given circuit /class, displaying world, European, body type and friends rankings. Plus you can do rivals for night and rain as well.

It's also much easier to find paints and decals now.

Well grass is more slippy, just unlike previous games, you don't lose 15mph for putting a wheel on the grass, but you're more likely to spin. Not been in the lobby's yet.. I'll report back this evening.

A quick blast around Road Atlanta would suggest they've fixed the corner cutting places with barriers, big one at the chicane at the top of the hill

Boooooo!!!!

I've just completed the demo and I actually enjoyed it. I loved the Indy race and the wet race I really enjoyed as well. The big puddles, while looking stupidly over exaggerated, were not as bad as I thought they would be.

I could be buying this tomorrow, which version will depend on the beer tokens spent tonight
