So it will be about 120 here in the UK then because for some strange reason we always have to pay more than they do in the states.

Yeah I followed that conversation over on the forums. The dynamic aspect adds so much to the experience that I think T10 are behind before they even begin. It does look damn pretty mind you. I just hope everything is in that has been missing from the last two and we could have a winner.

They will be 3 versions of the game as well. Standard, Delux and Ultimate.

The Ultimate edition gives you the first 6 DLC car packs for free.

Same release day for Destiny big content. This time around Destiny will take my priority.

As Slim mentioned, I don't like the idea of forced wet/dry/night/day. Pcars did do dynamic time and weather so well and was one gleaming feature that added so much. Pretty pointless with forced on or off. In my eyes you do it dynamic or you don't do it at all! FFS GT2 (or was it 3) have wet or dry racing (Special Stage 11 i believe) and night or day way back on the PS2!

24 player lobbies will be a nightmare on public and HELL to get working on private lobbies. They can't even get it right now! or in any Forza iteration.

Still no auction house or storefront, although you can take over paints and tunes (which tells me the same driving model must be being used or tunes would be useless) but whats the point if no one can find anything.

Don't judge the videos or images by what you see. I could show you hundreds of FM5 images that looked nothing like what you played.

Checked on the store today and the digital ultimate edition is 81.99 but does come with early access. Looks like release date in UK is 18th September but Ultimate Edition peeps will get to play the gam on the 10th September, over a week early.

Don't forget that the $149 is before the US equivalent of VAT - if you were in a state that paid the same 20% GST rate as our VAT you would be paying $179 (115).

As for the game itself, for all Beardy's waffle about how FM5 was better because the tyre companies didn't fully understand how tyres worked, and so T10 interpreted Calspan's data, I personally found the handling of the cars in FM5 to be a long way off from my (admittedly very limited) track experience. The fact that they're doing the same again isn't a good sign in my book.

Can't say that I'll not buy FM6, but I think Doony summed it up best:

I'm loving PCars in a way I never loved FM5, in fact I'm probably enjoying it more than Fm4 too even if I am still quite slow. I won't be buying FM6 at launch, but may do further down the line. For that, it needs to answer yes to a few questions:

1 - Is the handling sorted? (see tyre bit above)
2 - I know we're stuck with drivatars, but do they drive better than an antisocial 11 year old this time around?
3 - Is the PI sorted this time around so there is actually a point in tuning? (i.e. will cars balance or will there be some engine/drivetrain/other swap which completely obliterates any car without it?)
4 - Will there be a stable online experience which doesn't see smokin and Milton losing connection all the time (yes, I know PCars has this issue too)?
5 - Will it feel like there is some point in progressing through the game? (FM5 felt like a giant sandbox and motivation to proceed was quite difficult).

Good post Spiny and one I agree with. FM5's handling was way off for me. So hoping they have sorted that. Will more than likely still get it day one because, well, it's Forza isn't it. But for me it's a situation of living in hope than expectation.

We all (well most) want the game 5 should have been. As Dan says with weather and nightime either do it or don't do it. All the twiddly extras we loved on previous versions such as the store and painting and upgrades are a prerequisite so as such need sorting out so u can find stuff. No real incentive for most of the good painters as first choice on recommended ends up being some garish Matt carbon with chrome wheels will end up with hundreds of dls

I've read elsewhere that Ekberg has confirmed it's night or rain but not night and rain together. Half arsed

Beardy Dan confirmed it on a VVV vid interview. Distilled version of the comments was something along the lines of "Rain is difficult, night is difficult. Rain and night wouldn't be fun so we didn't."

Anyway the internet (GAF fanbois) will immediately jump to the immediate conclusion that it's cause they can't do 1080p/60 with it so they cut the feature, and then have a big argument about it. Me? I'm taking it at face value.

Putting my neutral hat on for very brief mo.....I said the other day that either themselves or MS, setting 1080 and 60fps as a must have may be their undoing. However as the game franchise is about eye candy over substance and trying to please a wider audience than pcars is a real monkey on their backs

Ahhh. The concept of 6 was started before 5 was shipped.

Explains why they never bothered finishing 5 then.

My main bug bear, on all that footage, steering wheel, still only turns 180 degrees. That's not major, but after pCars hands crossing etc, it'll be annoying.

And to add Mr Bell said even as a first party dev he couldn't see them achieving dynamic weather and time and STILL achieve 60fps ...
