Forza Horizon

Thought I'd start a dedicated thread

Found this posted elsewhere. Forza physics

Information from : Forzalife.de (Translated from german) originally from

Gamepro

Most important parts put in bold.

"Let's be honest, on Monday we will pursue all here but just because a game the Microsoft press conference at E3 2012: Forza Horizon. Much has been speculated about this title already and all we want, first solid information to do so.

In the latest issue of GamePro, already revealed details on which one may look forward to. In addition to the publication date (release date: 10/23/2012), we learn also that the Forza Motorsport Forza 4 Physics should be part of Horizon, which promises good performance. In addition to the driving physics have been reworked so that it also allows for fun off-road driving. With 65 different substrates to everything from mud, grass, gravel and asphalt to be there, and reduced damage model punished, then they're too harrsche driving.

The presentation of the open world is to be successful and dynamic day-night cycle and a festival in Colorado show that a huge party with car shows, sales and service outlets like. The area around the festival can free ride and comes with a landscape that includes parts of the real Colorado. Detailed vision along with great panoramic views are to be guaranteed and racing events, such as Mustang vs. Mustang sports car or airplane in combat against an appropriate scenario emerge."

SRT / Insidesimracing mentioned they their impressions video ready to go from a behind doors event for FH, but embargo'd until tomorrow, they did say they can't show any video though, so I guess we'll get quite a few 'impressions' floating around and hopefully a video or two from E3.

I am sitting on a fence with this! Very much on a fence. It will either be really good or I will have to eviscerate myself with the shards of polycarbonate disk when I realise how much money I've just wasted >_<

Still not sure on the game. I suspect it will be well done given the people involved, but it just doesn't feel like my thing. Maybe a "pick up when it's cheap" item?

All you need to do is stop at traffic lights and pull the left/right triggers and there you have it the new Burnout Paradise

It'll be good if there are race tracks built into the game too so you could just show up and do some laps. But I doubt that very much.

The only thing that's keeping me going is the hope that there are some closed off rally stages.

I can see why T10 have done it. They've released 4 racing games now and every game has been an improvement with regards to physics and graphics. But I think they must be struggling to improve it anymore for Forza 5 seeing as the new 360 wont be out for a while.

I'm very unlikely to buy it seeing as I have Burnout: Paradise City.

TBH I'd expect the painting mode to be as good as if not better than FM4?

We know its not going to be a tuner per se but people do want to decorate their rides

What the chuff! How can you compare Horizon to B:PC which is as pure an arcade racer as you can get, and even then the open world style didnt work as well for Burnout as previous 'closed' versions - something Critereon have as good as admitted by (a) not doing another Burnout and (b) making a very good arcade racer in NFS:Hot Pursuit.

Horizon needs to be looking at TDU1+2, not the online reliability of course but the functionality, scope and style of those games is what F:H needs to perfect and if they get it right its going to make F:H the hottest new game for driving fans since, well I'd go as far to say the original Gran Turismo in terms of impact!

I'm someone whose recent racing game experience stretches to F1, WRC, GT, PGR and of course Forza.

From the little info I've seen this looks nearest to PGR in gameplay and style aside from the open landscape.

Fair?

NFS Most Wanted is essentially Burnout Paradise 2, very thinly veiled as an NFS game.
