Which steering wheel stand?

Sorry if there is already a thread

Ive got an official Xbox 360 steering wheel but hardly use it due to finding it an uncomfortable position on my lap. Have been thinking about getting a stand for it but unsure which one to go for. The wheel stand pro looks quite good?

Just wondering what everyone else uses and what they think? Pics would be good too.

Cheers

Cheers Slim, the chair was 60 from Ikea, but I got that as an Xbox chair anyway, but I think they do cheaper ones for 25. Cos I live in an apartment, both can be put away in the spare room next door, so its not hogging my living room all the time.

Mines in the spare room where all the crap gets stuck

Not sure about the leccy bill but when it's all up and running it pumps out some heat. There have been times in the summer if I start a long MP race and forget to open the window, if it's been a tight race by the end I'm sweating like the proverbial.

A steering wheel would be nice

I already have made a plan for making my own collapsible stand , just need to get my hands on a wheel before Forza 4 comes out

Buy Argos Value Range Beech Effect Computer Desk Trolley at Argos.co.uk - Your Online Shop for Workstations.

I think its this one.. up to a whopping 15 now. Where the bottom shelf is, screw it into the other side of the desk when its tilted. Gived it its stability, otherwise it's all wonky cos its only supported on one side. You can see in my pics.

You can get a chair like mine from Ikea, that one was 60 I think, but they do one the same for 25 and you can change the padding to the one I have. The chair I have is a little bit stiffer, the cheaper one is quite bouncy, but will do the job, fits with the table a treat, and gives a low slung back, racing car cockpit feel to it.

Depending which wheel you have, may need padding out when you clamp it on, as the board its clamped too is a bit thin, I have a chopping board underneath the clamp at the moment

Will add a more permanent solution when I can be arsed

Here's mine, simple table from an old nest of tables, the pedals are propped up a couple inches for comfort and the game rocker was 60 from Argos a couple years ago.

Hahaha, no, well spotted though. It won't fit in the airing cupboard so it lives behind my spare room door!

Awesome set up Slim!!!

I've been a bit sceptical of building a proper 'rig'.. but when a Gamepod GTX Bare chassis came up cheap, I took the plunge.. it's very very nearly finished (will do that this weekend), but I've tried it quickly with FM3, and it actually does feel more immersive (and that's a single 24" Monitor!)..

I'll post more details later.. but here's the bare chassis with temporary awesome FIA Approved F1 seat..
