Drifting - can we ban him in advance?

To be honest, I'm not sure how much that tells us but I'm sure Milton will appreciate it

In fairness to the guy, the only thing he needs banning for, is calling it a drifting video, when plainly there was no drifting..just badly sliding off the track.

The only important bit there was the little 'pretend' interview afterwards. 'Whole new game', 'way more sensitive','the camera doesnt do it justice' etc etc

And on the bright side, there are two different lighting schemes going on there which means it's pretty likely we will be able to run the new tracks without having our retinas burned out by a virtual sun

Being really picky now though, but there's something about the lighting in the red Audi picture which just seems a little off - I think it might be that the shadow under the car is too light even for overcast conditions. Not that I really mind - I'd far rather see development time put into improved fizzix and gameplay than I would on getting the lighting exactly right (too much of that at work).

Nice find Slim. Be aware...your driving will be just like that from the start. It really is far and away from FM4 regarding physics. But couple of week practice will sort that out.

Yes mate they really are that different. I would say its a jump from FM2 - FM4 rather than the small improvement from 3-4. When I first had a go I ran all assists off except autobox (not used to the normal setup) in a Ford Focus. Then few goes in the F12 and P1.

Here are some pointers:

There is far more weight to the car. You can really feel it move around.

You can feel the tires loosing grip under braking and loosing lateral grip.

You will have to relearn running TCS off. Seriously! And with the higher class cars you will even have to put on STM for a bit. You cannot treat the cars like you have done in previous Forza titles. They will bite you back so hard! I was watching Shafter who is easily one of the best drivers I know trying to wrestle the P1 around assist free and he was either locking up, spinning or fish tailing. After a few goes he got used to it but quickly ran to put STM and TCS on. The Focus for example cannot be treated like FWD in FM4 where you can brake, turn in and power out. If you do that you just torque steer into the nearest barrier. You really have to feed it just like you would do in real life.

Of course these are bone stock cars and the Calspan physics was not in place. But going on from what I played Forza's physics have really made that jump from Sim/Arcade to full on bite your arm off Sim. Good for some, possibly not everyone.

Sounds like my new controller could be flying across the room in the first couple of weeks lol But seriously its good that its changed that much and its just not a polished FM4

To add another point. When I first played I thought the game was very sensitive. It was not until I played a few other titles that I realised the pad is very sensitive which is a good thing.

I may well struggle with the steering if it is that sensitive. For some reason, braking/accelerating I can modulate the controls pretty well. But I really struggle with steering with the stick - guess I have better finger than thumb control.

The new fizzix sounds like a good thing as it will be a bit more of a challenge. Hopefully, those new physics also translate to losing the "extreme" tuning and gaining things like tyre wear and fuel consumption.
