@Slim Just got round to trying C.A.R.S. I think I'm still picking my jaw off the ground. I ran most of the cars around Bathhurst and it's possibly the most thrilling driving sim experience I think I've had. Hope it translates well to the other tracks and when I start trying to set times.

lol

The cars really are something else both in terms of how they look but also in terms of how different they feel to one another. Tracks can be a bit rough around the edges but you can tell once they are done they will be very special. If they can keep the current quality throughout the the ret of the development then it could be a truly astonishing game.

I've signed up but support for my 360 controller is poor at best, really need to get myself a proper wheel.

Just had another blast, one nice combo is the Racer L4-RS around Bathhurst! I really hope the engine sound is a work-in-progress but such a grippy car with nice turn-in on lift off.

@Tricky Downloaded the latest build over the weekend and had a good few hours with it. Don't know Bathurst that well but will give it a whirl this week and see what sort of time I can come up with. Did you run stock or do a little tinkering?

I hadn't run Bathurst before this, quite enjoy it though. I'm running the car stock, it doesn't really need any tuning. Unlike that Caterham in the events,.. urk.

I read the multiplayer is meant to arrive 'soon'. As long as the updates come regularly it's going to be nice to gradually see the game fleshing out.

Amazing how a game comes alive when you have some competition. Nice time @Tricky. Did about 8 laps whilst little one in bath and managed a 2:09.187 Lots to make up in the twisty bit. Think this game simulates braking down hill fantastically.

Thanks, I improved a little to 2:08.4 yesterday but it's not easy to get the perfect lap. On the leaderboard I think I'm 4th, with #1 being a 2:07.1

Yeah I just saw that. My time didn't appear, what mode did you set yours in? I just chose time trial.

Yeah just time trial mode. It does say scores may not appear immediately on the scoreboard but not sure how long mine took.

EDIT: Just seen you pop up on the leaderboard

This looks interesting...

So to get access you've got to pay up for one of the tool packs?

Did you not try Mount Panorama on Shift 2 @Slim? ISI make both games so i assume it's near identical.
Great fun with the GT cars in Shift 2 - remind me of ToCA World Touring Cars on PS1 battering around that and Watkins Glen for hours. Ahhhhh happy days!

When i get myself a decent wheel and upgrade the PC a bit this CARS is a must try. I want to be all ready for rFactor 2 anyway - if i can get a PC to run rFactor 2 at High then it should run this on Medium i reckon.
What resolution and framerates you guys getting (i know its an early build) for your hardware? And what DX?

Yeah I ran it a bit in Shift but I never could get used to the tracks in Shift. With all the crap going on on screen it just never sunk in. As for performance I'm running it maxed at 1920 x 1080 and getting a steady 70fps. Not really tried Dx11 yet and it's a bit unstable in triple screen so not really ran it on that either.

Eerily close to my spec, Q6600 4GB ram Geforce 570 OC.

Don't know what FPS I get but it runs great. Of course this is all a little premature till the game fleshes out a bit and more detail and textures are added.

Tree'd yet again by Tricky's longer appendage

Looking at a CPU upgrade soon as it's relatively cheap and I think it's starting to hold me back.

Are you running it stock? Mines at 2.9Ghz at the moment. My plan is to upgrade around 2012 Q2 when the new Intel Ivy Bridge setup comes out.

Going back more on topic, did you do any setup tweaks in the end for the L4-RS?

I OC'd it a little, I've been surprised it kept pace so well, had it since 2008.

No, I ran it completely stock, it's a great little car.
