Qualifying:
Qualifying will work in the same way the actual NASCAR series do it.
Drivers will have 2 timed laps to set their time (1 timed lap on the road course).
Drivers will start from the grid and use the in-game 'per car roll-off'.
Once you have qualified, your qualifying host will confirm your time with you,
and post it on the forum to be sorted into your correct race lobby.
Qualifying will take place on Sunday evenings at 9:00pm with an aim to start racing at 9:30pm latest.
Remember, if you uncertify your time you will be behind all the certified times!
Lobbies and Points:
We will be utilising a new, single lobby system, where instead of qualifying for a group and staying in that group for the full 6 weeks, the drivers qualify for the lobby they are running in before the race.
This means you could be in top lobby in the first week and 2nd lobby the next.
This also means you should be racing a full room each week.
The lobbies will be weighted so the top lobby is worth more points than the lower lobbies. As below:
1st - 185
2nd - 170
3rd - 165
4th - 160
5th - 155

etc.
Do not however think that just because you start in lobby 2, the most points you can earn is 138.
If you win that individual lobby you will earn a bonus 5 points.
If someone has a mechanical failure (DISCO/Quit-out) everyone will shift up a place.
Also, drivers that do suffer a mechanical failure score points for positions immediately after the last person who finishes the actual race.
E.G..
23rd place - PzR Tank - 94 pts
24th place - PzR Dark Moon (DNF - Lap 26) - 91 pts
25th place - WiggyDiggyPoo (DNF - Lap 25) - 88 pts
Race Procedures & Rules:
Starting Procedures:
There will be 1 Race each race night, this will take place within 30 minutes of qualifying.
The race itself will be roughly 30 minutes in length.
The start order will be decided by your qualifying position.
The race will begin with a Parade lap, this will give people the opportunity to get in the correct order.
Once the players are in the correct order, they will bunch into a single file queue, with each player holding their speed at 85mph (maxed out 1st gear).
This will be the same for everyone as the cars are forced stock.
All drivers must be at 85mph or maxed in 1st gear as they cross the line to start the 1st racing lap.
Anyone found to be starting before the line to gain an advantage will be punished.
Once you have crossed the line, you may accelerate up to full speed.
Yellow Flag Procedures:
A 'Yellow Flag' can only be called if a car has spun through contact with another car.
If you have 'just crashed' that's your own tough luck.
It is the responsibility of the driver who has spun to call a yellow flag.
For this reason
anyone wishing to compete, must have a working headset.
When you call a yellow flag you must do it clearly so that everyone can hear it.
Your lobby host will also confirm the yellow flag situation.
Once a Yellow flag has been called, the lead car becomes the 'Safety car'.
All drivers must back off from race pace and gently slow down to a maxed out 1st gear (85mph).
During a Yellow flag situation only the lobby host and the driver at the back of the field may talk.
This is to ensure no-one misses a call.
The only time you are allowed to overtake during a yellow flag situation is as follows:
- You overtake a car that is spinning
- You overtake a car that has spun
- You overtake a car that is 'racing' to the pack after a spin.
- You overtake a car that is in the pits
To clarify this, if you are involved in a crash with another competitor and have spun,
you will call 'Yellow flag' or 'Yellow, yellow, yellow!!' The lobby host will confirm this and the field will
slow to 85mph. You are then effectively in a race with the other cars to get to the back of the main pack.
We expect drivers to be sensible in rejoining the pack, and not to smash into the back of it.
If you crash into a car that is spinning then you also have to rejoin at the back of the trail.
If you are involved in a crash
during a yellow flag situation, then you must rejoin the back of the trail. You don't have the right to rejoin in the position you previously occupied.
Once all cars are back in a single file trail behind the 'Safety car', the person at the back of the trail must announce that he is in formation. Once he has announced this he will also announce a restart time.
This restart time will be a certain time on the Total race time.
E.G. The last place person announces that he is in formation and the total race time at that point is 12:34.xxx (12 minutes, 34 seconds)
He will then announce a time that drivers can start racing again, this should be an easy to identify time such as 12:40 or 12:50.
Once this time has been announced, the lobby host will confirm the time so there can be no confusion.
Once that announced time occurs, racing begins again.
Pit Stop Procedure:
Each race there will be 2 'Pit-Windows'
These windows will be 3 laps in length.
Everyone must pit once, during a 'pit-window'.
The pit-lane will remain open during a Yellow Flag Situation.
To enter the pit-lane you will be required to use the lower 'apron' section of the track.
You should move onto this section on the back-straight, and follow it round the last corner and into the pits.
Upon exiting the pits, drivers must stay on the lower 'apron' section of the track until it is safe to return to the main circuit.
Anyone who re-joins unsafely will be punished by the race-stewards.
Each week there will be a video available to show the correct procedure for each track.
Rules:
Communication is key, if you haven't got a headset, sorry you can't race.
Deliberate spinning/wrecking will not be tolerated and will be punished by the stewards.
Accidents
are going to happen, please communicate when you are side-by-side with another driver, even if you can see them, they may not be able to see you.
Overtaking below the line on the inside of the track is prohibited. If you do this you will be punished.
'Lucky Dog' Rule:
If you have been lapped you need to make the lobby host aware.
At the next 'Yellow Flag Situation' you may unlap yourself.
There is no limit to how many cars may unlap themselves.
Race Schedule:
The races will be in the following order:
- Week 1: Sedona Raceway
- Week 2: Sunset Peninsula Super Speedway
- Week 3: Motegi Speedway
- Week 4: Road America (Normal circuit rules apply here)
- Week 5: Motegi Speedway
- Week 6: Sunset Peninsula Super Speedway
Team Championship:
There will be an optional Team championship.
Teams must consist of a maximum of 2 drivers.
Team-mates do not have to have the same livery, although they can if they wish.
Team score will be the sum of both drivers points.
Ok, I've read the rules, and I want in! What do I do?
Simplez. Add your name to this thread, with your driver number.
If you pick a number that has already been taken, you'll be asked to pick another.
If you would be interested in hosting a lobby then state that as well. We will need as much help as possible.
Here's an example:
PzR Tank - #44 - Yes I can host!
