Evo

And, speaking of the Evo, this is the tune I've built for the California Highway stages which have come up in career in the first season. I won't say it's the best car ever, but it is 31st road car on the CH1 Time Trial at the moment, and second Evo, approx 4 seconds off the pace despite not being pushed too hard and being driven by myself (who was over 10 seconds off Slim's pace at Catalunya last weekend).

If anyone does try it, I'd be interested to hear any feedback. It certainly feels better than the stock tune, just as with any other car I've come across, make sure you get your speed down before the corner so you can power through.

Mitsubishi Evo
Track: California Highway (tuned on Stage 1)

F/L & R Tyre Pressure: 2.12 Bar
R/L & R Tyre Pressure: 2.10 Bar

R/L & R Slow Rebound: 7200 N/m/s
F/L & R Fast Rebound: 9250 N/m/s
R/L & R Fast Rebound: 3800 N/m/s

Qually Fuel: 24l
(Note that you could run the highway on 5l easily, but I've left a chunky load in as I know if I don't I'll forget and try and run an online race with barely any fuel).

As said above, all feedback welcome.

Nice tune mate, just used this in an invitational even round Suzuka West and finished 4th with the ai set to 100.

It was a 6 lap race and started raining towards the end of lap 2, so cant really give much feedback, but what I can say is that it is fun to rally this car lol

Good to hear, and thanks for the feedback. Great that you're able to run it against 100% AI - I know I'm not great on this yet, but I've still only really done it at 70% (60% for the karts at Glencairn) which is probably a statement of where I am with the game.

Really like the tuning in this game, it really feels like the settings do something and getting just one item wrong can really upset the car (as I found out last night)

Just got one question - did you race it pre- or post-patch? I'm hoping tunes work for both and I don't have to go changing them when I d/l the patch.

Guess I'll find out for myself in a couple of hours Once the controller is dialled in, the next job will be to get all tuned vehicles (all 3 of them) adjusted to the new settings if necessary.

Thanks, only occured to me after I'd shut down that you'd already implied that in your earlier post

Put this down elsewhere, but the good news is it still runs well (actually, a bit better) after the patch than before.

Another one revised on the second pass through career. To be honest, there wasn't a lot wrong with the pace of this, but I wanted to see if I could make the back of the car turn in a bit less sharply without ruining the ability of the front to hold the line through a corner. Quite pleased with the end result - I have more confidence in pushing the car now which means I've got a bit more consistency leading to improved speed.

Another issue was that on a longer run the front tyres were getting a bit warm, while at the back end the tyres were taking a while to warm up so I've amended the pressures a bit to treat that. The front tyres still get warm, but not to the degree which they did before.

All changes from the original tune are in bold blue

Mitsubishi Evo
Track: California Highway (tuned on Stage 1)

Tyre & Brakes
Compound: Automatic by Weather
Front L & R Tyre Pressure: 2.26 Bar
Rear L & R Tyre Pressure: 2.02 Bar

F/L & R Camber: -1.5deg
R/L & R Camber: -1.1deg
Front Toe: 0 deg
Rear Toe: +0.3deg

Suspension
F/L & R Spring Rate: 84 N/mm
R/L & R Spring Rate: 64 N/mm
Front Sway Bar: 64 N/mm
Rear Sway Bar: 36 N/mm

Dampers
Front Bump Stops: 0mm (15 clicks from left)
Rear L&R Bump Stop: 0mm (20 clicks from left)
F/L & R Slow Bump: 3250 N/m/s
R/L & R Slow Bump: 3400 N/m/s
F/L & R Slow Rebound: 14,750 N/m/s
R/L & R Slow Rebound: 5850 N/m/s
F/L & R Fast Rebound: 9250 N/m/s

5th: 0.76

Qually Fuel: 15l

One word of warning if you're doing California Highway. This will hit the rev limiter in top gear on both Stage 2 and Stage 3. Not a lot I can do about that I'm afraid as the gearing is as high as it will go.
