BMW 1-Series M Coupe

Set this one up for the little BMW mini-series (of one round) at Nuerburgring Sprint Short. It was set up without assists as I felt it was easier to feel what the car was doing that way, but I raced it with Real assists set and probably gained a couple of tenths. Best time is 1:27.3 - only slightly better than the 2nd best 1-series on the board but at least I didn't cut the last chicane

Tyres will heat up in about 2.5-4 laps, fronts slightly quicker than the rears. And around this track it uses approx 2 litres per lap so you can adjust accordingly.

Ta. Worst thing on the wheel is how slow the road cars turn, like a real car....

Hmm, that's something I noticed about this car at first as well. Seems I didn't put the steering ratio on there, and at the moment I can't remember why that was. Given that you run wheel, and I run controller, is it worth making the ratio faster than default on this one?

EDIT: Steering ratio was 15.4:1, added to first post

Another reworked car from the career. This time, my main aim was to try and tame the rear end which was much loser without assists than I remember. Managed to get down into the 1:26's in the Nuerburgring Sprint Short Time Trial, and 1:31's in the wet so it does seem to work a bit better than before.

If you know the race is going to be dry, I'd suggest using the Track or Street tyres to get better grip in the corners as the setup below seems to default to "All Weather" whether it's wet or dry.

As with the Focus, all changes are in bold.

Tyres & Brakes
Compound: Automatic by weather
Front: 2.10 Bar
Rear: 1.98 Bar
Brake Pressure: 97%
Brake Balance: 60% Front
Traction Control Slip: 15%

Alignment
Steering Ratio: 16.5:1
Caster: 6.9 deg
Front Camber: -1.9 deg
Rear Camber: -0.8 deg
Front Toe-in: 0 deg
Rear Toe-in: +0.3 deg

Suspension
Front Spring Rate: 62 N/mm
Rear Spring Rate: 104 N/mm
Front Sway Bar: 45 N/mm
Rear Sway Bar: 15 N/mm

Dampers
Front Bump Stops: 5mm
Rear Bump Stops: 10mm
Front Slow Bump: 4800 N/m/s
Rear Slow Bump: 4400 N/m/s
Front Slow Rebound: 12,200 N/m/s
Rear Slow Rebound: 12,900 N/m/s

Differential
Accel Lock: 25%
Decel Lock: 30%
Limited Slip Preload: 20 Nm

Gearing
